CL-25 is a candle designed as an interior object. The extruded aluminium container gives it a clear, industrial expression, while the beeswax creates a warm and soft glow when lit.

Cast from 210g of pure beeswax, the candle burns for more than 20 hours. Beeswax burns cleanly with minimal smoke or soot, releases fewer toxins than conventional wax, and has a subtle natural honey scent.

The aluminium container is made to last. Once the candle has burned out, it can be refilled, recycled, or reused for storing small everyday objects.

Other information

I wanted to create a candle that stands out, yet remains elegant and naturally fits into the home. The result is this aluminium shell filled with beeswax instead of paraffin.

I chose beeswax because it burns cleanly, produces almost no smoke or soot, and has a longer burn time than paraffin. It also carries a gentle scent of honey and is a natural, biodegradable material.

Once the wax has burned out, the aluminium container can be reused for storage. That way, it doesn’t just become another candle that loses its purpose. The shell stands strong on its own and is made from anodised aluminium, giving it a durable, matte surface with a soft, tactile feel. One of my favourites :)

The base plate is made from stainless steel, laser-engraved and mounted to the aluminium shell with four screws.

The beeswax is produced by bees in the EU from conventional beekeeping.

Clean burn
Beeswax burns cleanly and produces almost no smoke or soot when the wick is properly trimmed, making it more pleasant indoors than paraffin.

Long burn time
Its high melting point means beeswax candles burn slower than many other wax candles, providing a longer burn time.

Natural scent
Beeswax has a mild, natural fragrance of honey and pollen without added perfumes.

Warm light
The flame emits a warm, golden glow reminiscent of sunlight, creating a calm and comfortable atmosphere.

Once the wax has burned out, the container can be recycled, refilled, or used to store small objects. Avoid washing the aluminium container in a dishwasher, because it may cause stains and discoloration.

To remove leftover wax, place the container upside down in a sink and pour boiling water over it until the remaining beeswax is released.
